We’re constantly drawing from the Cauldron of Stories here at Zakelro and you can never be sure what juicy tale is going to rise to the top–from children’s books to role playing manuals, from nonsense verse to formal papers on topics near and dear to our hearts…

We’re currently working on several PJ’s Attic projects. PJ’s Attic is a project space where we experiment with various modern media in our pursuit of fully participatory storytelling. These projects primarily center around the Drachurae Cycle, a homegrown role playing system that has been nearly twenty years in the making. They include the HoneyComb Engine, a community focused, cross-platform, free and open source storytelling framework and a Storytelling White Paper, a living document in which we record our explorations of the definitions of storytelling as they apply to new media. You can learn more about PJ’s Attic at the official web site.

Additionally, we have two experimental performances in development. Both pieces rely upon audience involvement. The first, No Man, invites the audience to explore the roles they expect men to play in our culture. The second, Marionette, is a whimsical piece which allow audience behaviors to affect the actor’s movement.

We’re also writing the first of (hopefully) many children’s books–a modern update on a familiar classic, The Emperor’s New Nose.
